Description
I had set a New Year's resolution last year to get a picture of an owl before the year was over. Despite many attempts throughout the year, I was unable to fulfill that resolution. Yesterday, on New Years Eve, I set out once more to try to fulfill this goal before the of the year.
The morning started with me being the subject of a coordinated airstrike perpetrated by some songbirds. I was simultaneously hit by multiple bird droppings as I was walking the trails at Brazos Bend State Park. Despite that setback, I pressed on.
Finally, late in the afternoon, I found my owl.
This a metaphor for a great lesson in life - Even when you get shit on, if you continue pressing forward, you can still meet your goals.
I hope everyone has a hoot this year!
