Description
Picture at night of the 12th Man statue in front of Kyle Field at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. Kyle Field is home to the internationally acclaimed "Fightin' Texas Aggie Band" as well as the the center of Aggie Football. Of course, you may notice that I mention the band before our football team and you may be wondering why is that? The reason is simple, our dates didn't always watch football, but everyone watches the "Fightin' Texas Aggie Band" when it marches, counter-marches and performs a 4 way cross. If you have never seen the Aggie Band, then you are in for a great surprise. One thing that surprises many visitors to Kyle Field is that the entire Student Body stands during the football game. This symbolizes their willingness to suit up and play on behalf of their school, like E. King Gill did in 1922. The Aggies had many players injured in a game against Centre College and the coach Dana X. Bible was going to be a man short. E. King Gill suited up to play and although he never took the field, it symbolized his willingness to do what was necessary for his school. This is where we got the term "12th Man."
