This weekend, I went with several friends to take photos of the Egrets and Spoonbills at the Smith Oaks Rookery in High Island, Texas. This bird sanctuary is a wonderful place to just hang out and watch the Egrets and their babies hang out. Every once in a while, one of the Egrets will take of and give you that split second opportunity to catch them against the backlight of the sun, like in this shot. The morning light at the Rookery is just amazing and I was very lucky to capture this.

By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
