Artist's Description
More than 900 scrolls were discovered here in the mid 20th century that have been determined to have been written by Jews that had fled from Jerusalem. These scrolls were kept in clay pottery (amphores) and hidden in Caves to keep them safe. Unbelievably, these scrolls survived centuries without being discovered until a shepherd looking for lost animal tossed a rock into one of the caves only to hear pottery breaking. He climbed in to investigate and found the Dead Sea Scrolls. Qumran's location had long been known and explored, but the location of the hidden scrolls was unknown, as a matter of fact, it was not even known that they existed. The Dead Sea Scrolls are written on papyrus and are currently on display with the Israel Museum at the Shrine of the Book.
About David Morefield
By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
