Artist's Description
View from under the Century Tree. Many lasting marriages started with a proposal under this tree on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. It is a tradition at Texas A&M to propose to your girlfriend under this tree. Some of my upperclassmen proposed under this tree and then had us form a saber arch as they walked their fiancee' from under the tree. I guess there is some Aggie logic involved there, proposing while 12 guys stand by with swords, but none of the women ever seemed to mind. Of course for those of us who were not ready to propose, it was not a place that you would want to take your girlfriend for fear that she might get the wrong idea and get excited. No one knows for sure how old the Century Tree is, but hopefully it will live on to see the proposals of many more Aggies. Who knows? Maybe your son or daughter will find themselves under it's reaches.
About David Morefield
By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
