The streets of Salzburg are beautiful at night. While walking around last night, I found myself imagining what it was like when Mozart lived here and the answer is quite simple, many things are the same in the old city. They have gone to great lengths to keep anything from changing with the exceptions of better hygiene with running water and the introduction of electricity in lieu of gaslights. But walking in this city, you get the feeling that you have been transported back in time and it is breathtaking to walk from plaza to plaza to see the buildings that were built in in the 1200-1300s still standing. I love the cobblestone streets and then narrow alleys. You would have difficulty driving a car through these areas because they were never intended for cars. I have fallen in love with this city.
