Rainbow Falls at Dismals Canyon Greeting Card

While visiting family in Huntsville, Alabama, I decided to travel to Phil Campbell, AL to check out Dismals Canyon. As my son and I trekked through the canyon, I stopped along the ay to take pictures. I am so glad that I took my camera, because Dismals Canyon is beautiful.

The minute that you descend into the canyon, it is like you have been transported to another world. The canopy of trees breaks away and the hidden beauty of the canyon floor is revealed. There is a stream that passes through the canyon beside large rocks that are at least four stories tall.

Some of the areas that we passed through seemed more like a scene out of the Lord of the Rings trilogy than being in Northern Alabama.

In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
