Artist's Description
Pat OBriens has been a landmark bar in New Orleans since 1933. Located on Bourbon Street, they are famous for their signature drink, The Hurricane. When the streets are steamy in New Orleans, there is no better place to sit down for a cold drink than Pat OBriens.
Originally a speak-easy, Pat OBriens went legitimate after prohibition in 1933. Originally located at 633 N. St. Peters street, the bar moved once they realized that had outgrown their location.
Due to supply issues in the 1940s with Whiskey, Bourbon and Scotch, bar owners were required to purchase 50 cases of Rum in addition to their regular Whiskey, Bourbon and Scotch orders. Through experimentation, they found the perfect mixture of rum and other ingredients and named the drink The Hurricane. Now, Pat OBriens is famous for their signature Hurricane served in a Hurricane glass of course!
About David Morefield
By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
