Description
The Link Lee mansion currently serves as the administrative offices of the University of St. Thomas. Built in 1910, the Link Lee Mansion started out being outside of the city limits of the City of Houston. Over time, the City of Houston has swallowed up this once rural abode and it is now considered near the center of town. Built by John Wiley Link, it was later bought by another Houston Oil Man named T.P. Lee. The mansion was sold to the University of St. Thomas in 1940 and first served as the only building for the entire University. The University is waiting to purchase adjacent property in order to build new administrative offices so that they can return the Link-Lee Mansion to its original state.
