Originally called "President's Park", this park was separated from the White House Grounds in 1804 when President Thomas Jefferson has Pennsylvania Avenue cut through between the park and the White House. The was named for Marquis de Lafayette, a frenchman who fought int he American Revolutionary War. Today, this park to the north of the White House, serves as a beautiful place for people to view the White House. The park features a statue at each of the four corners of the park in honor of a foreign fighter of the American Revolutionary War including Major General Marquis Gilbert de Lafayette and Major General Comte Jean de Rochambeau of France, Brigadier General Thaddeus Kosciuszko of Poland and Major General Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben of Prussia. In the center of the park, stands Clark Mills statue of President Andrew Jackson (pictured above).
By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
