Description

If you want to go to a town in Texas that still echoes with the sounds of boots and spurs, the Fort Worth Stockyards is where you want to be. Ever since the railroad was extended to Fort Worth, the Stockyard Exchange has been the mecca of Cowboys from all over. Prior to the railroad arriving in Fort Worth, the Chisholm trail ran through the city making it a large resupply point for cowboys passing through. With the advent of the railroad, Fort Worth became the end of the ride for the cowboys and the city boomed with business. Buyers from as far away as New England bought cattle at the Stockyards earning it the title of "The Wall Street of the West." Today, cowboys still drive cattle down the street keeping with tradition at the Stockyards.
