I took this picture on a very still morning beside the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is located about 420m below sea level and is the lowest place on earth. The salinity is so high that the density of the water will not let you sink. This popular attraction has been the source of Sea Salt that has been used by Kings around the globe for centuries. The purported health benefits from the salts of this region have been used since before the Roman Empire. I got the opportunity to get in this water and it is definitely and experience that has to be experienced. The Dead Sea used to be fed by the Jordan River, but int he past 100 years, Jordan and Israel have been using that water to supply their countries. Unless some major changes are made, the Dead Sea could be gone by the year 2050. Hopefully, countries will come together to preserve this wonder of the world.
By David Morefield I started photography for a couple of reason, the main reason was for the pure enjoyment of creating something beautiful. In my past, I have seen some of the greatest horrors known to man, so finding other images to place into my head has been therapeutic. I call it "Image Replacement Therapy." Over time, I had some people ask about buying prints, so I started posting prints for sale and this is how Fluffyshotme Photography was born. I prefer to go out and capture whatever strikes me in the moment and if others like it, then great. My photography is more for me to appreciate, but if others can get enjoyment out of my work, then that brings me a sense of fulfillment. I am interested in travelling the world....
